Polyether foam is utilized by Aqua-Link for 2 principle purposes:

1. Mechanical filtration (to filter out medium thru large particulates)
2.   Bio Media – Is an excellent substrate to cultivate “Anaerobic” bacteria when submersed in a wet dry filter. The low pore count (20 PPI) provides 3 functional advantages that will accelerate Nitrobacterium growth:     
   •  a.  Provides an extremely large surface area for bacteria to attach.     
   •  b.  Dissipates and reduces excessive oxygen from entering the media.      
   • c.  The compactness will accomplish its functional goal, occupying only a small portion of the filter unit.  

Our standard sizes are cut in dimensions that accommodate the many common applications utilized in aquarium filtration equipment.
